Storage Consolidator for Windows

Quest Storage Consolidator for Windows automates the online migration of data and printers with their security settings intact. Storage Consolidator enables you to perform pre-migration testing to ensure sufficient, rights, trusts and free disk space are available to complete the migration. You can also exclude outdated or inappropriate data from the migration. In addition, this ZeroIMPACT solution updates end user desktops and profiles to ensure mapped drives, printer connections, desktop shortcuts and OLE and hyperlinks continue to function after the move, minimizing impact to critical business activity.

  • Online Data Movement – Schedule online data movement and synchronization for specific times
  • Online Printer Migration – Allows you to migrate printers online — including shares, permissions, attributes, ports and drivers to other print servers or clusters
  • Bandwidth Throttling – Control bandwidth usage on a per-project basis to minimize the effect on vital network applications
  • Detailed Reporting – Simplified project management with detailed migration activity reports
  • Exclusion Options – Extends storage space by excluding outdated or inappropriate data from consolidation projects to ensure that only current and appropriate data is moved
  • Link Updater – Automatically updates hyperlinks and Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) links in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents
  • Shortcut Updater – Updates shortcuts to files, folders and computers, saving valuable time and effort by eliminating the need to visit individual desktops
  • User Home Path Updater – Updates the home directory paths that are stored as an attribute of user accounts
  • User Profile Path Updater – Updates the user profile paths that are stored as an attribute of user accounts
  • Registry Tool – Updates client computer registries after a migration by updating the drive mappings in local and roaming user profiles, and updating client printer connections
