SharePoint Master Joel Oleson Joins Quest Software

Popular Blogger Brings Experience and Enthusiasm to Quest



ALISO VIEJO, Calif., November 21, 2008
Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT) today announced that SharePoint expert Joel Oleson has joined Quest as a senior product manager and product evangelist on the SharePoint team. Oleson is a prominent SharePoint blogger, trainer, evangelist and architect for SharePoint. He is a frequent speaker at industry events such as TechEd and at various user groups around the world.

“We are thrilled to have Joel on board,” said David Waugh, vice president of unified communications and collaboration at Quest Software. “Joel adds extensive SharePoint design and architecture experience to our team, and his product evangelism skills and general understanding of SharePoint greatly strengthen Quest’s standing as a thought leader in this space.”

As a senior product manager and evangelist at Quest, Oleson will help set product direction and strategy within Quest’s SharePoint product team, while continuing his evangelism and blogging efforts.

Oleson previously worked at Microsoft as a senior technical product manager for IT professionals. He designed the first Microsoft global deployment of SharePoint, as well as the extranet and hosted SharePoint deployments at Microsoft. Leading up to the release of SharePoint 2007, Oleson helped various customers get the critical governance information and critical best practices they needed to upgrade and achieve scale.

Before working for Microsoft, Oleson was a senior web engineer at a large telecom organization where he architected multi-tiered web applications and multi-staged extranet deployments.
